Alafia River State Park Solar Powered Glampsite- The 16 ft luxury canvas bell tents come with multiple screened windows, roll up sides, and a screen door plus a rain fly and Coolaroo 90 percent shade cloth/covered porch with two indoor/outdoor chairs.  The 20 ft bell tents have windows in every panel as well as a screen door and shade porch with chairs.  The tents are installed on a ground tarp with a crushed sea-shell pad for excellent drainage and to deter bugs and other critters, and they are surrounded with solar outdoor lights with remote control. Two solar panels and battery system provide power to the tent to run the included fans, lights, and cell phone charging stations.  (There is not enough power for air conditioning, heaters, or other appliances.  AC is not particularly effective in tents because the cotton canvas is made to "breathe" but if you absolutely have to have AC, you are welcome to bring your own portable unit with a generator, but the generator must be turned off by 11 P.M. for quiet hours.)  

You will love the memory foam queen size bed with cooling mattress pad and memory foam pillows, soft linens, and two towels. (Site C, the 20ft tent, comes standard with two memory foam queen beds and four towels.)  Next to the bed are two nightstands with lovely lamps that have built in USB chargers for your phones.  There is also a stylish tinted glass chandelier, comfy throw rugs, storage bench with emergency supplies, towel rack, toy box, and a 70 qt. cooler.  Be sure to notice all the special decor as well as safety equipment provided such as a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, garbage can, and broom.  The campsite also includes a metal fire ring with cooking grate and two outdoor rocking chairs for those starry nights by the campfire. (Site C has two additional benches for seating.) Plus, there is a 12 x 12 shade structure which houses a picnic table and camping cook-station table with a butane burner and coffee drip pitcher as well as a charcoal grill.  The cook-station is well stocked with pots, skillet, mixing bowls, barbeque tools, lighter, marshmallow roasters, lemonade pitcher, salt, pepper, cooking spray, paper towels, foil, and cleaning supplies. Please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid, paper plates, cups, and silverware. Wood and ice are usually available for purchase at the ranger's station, and snacks are available in the vending machines at the bath house near the playground/bike shop.

For your convenience we also offer several optional add-ons such as single floor mattresses with linens,  indoor portable cassette toilet, bug deterrent package, additional cooler, extra outdoor folding chairs, 2 hr fire-starter logs or cooking grade fire-starters, and even custom decorations for special events like birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and graduations. Please note that the 16 ft bell tent can accommodate a maximum of five people (two in the provided queen plus two or three single floor mattress add-ons if desired)  The 20 ft bell tent can accommodate up to 8 people (four in the provided queens plus up to four single floor mattress add-ons.)  Guests are welcome to bring their own secondary pop-up tent but there can be NO MORE than 8 people sleeping at any one sight due to State Park rules and they can not use the provided solar power for the second tent.  The campsite also limits parking to two cars, (or one car and a second tent,) but free overflow parking is available to the West of the horse barn.  Comfy Camping welcomes well-behaved dogs of any size and breed at no extra charge.  Pets must be leashed at all times and may not be left unattended in a tent.  All renters are responsible for damage done to the glampsite or equipment during their stay.

Mandatory Cleaning fee $30 per booking;  includes laundering all the linens, vacuuming carpets, dusting furniture, sweeping mats, watering plants, cleaning the cooler, picnic table and cooking station, and emptying firepit and grill.  It does not include the washing of dishes, removal of dog waste,  or emptying the trash- as those things must be done by renter to avoid bugs and critters on the glampsite.  Please see check-out sheet in tent for reminders.

portable cassette toilet Rental $25 (for inside tent) per booking (not per night) -  portable cassette toilet comes filled with a separate water chamber for rinsing (light flush,) and 1 roll toilet paper per rental.)  May be emptied into dump-station only. (Please do not dump at bath-house or on the ground.)  For an extra $25 Comfy Camping will do the dumping for you.  Just leave the used toilet in the tent and our cleaning staff will take care of everything, and your card on file will be charged the extra fee.

additional cooler rental (one cooler comes with each tent rental) -  $20 per booking (not per night)

bug deterrent package purchase:  $25 (Purchase of 1 can of bug repellant spray for your skin, 4 bug repellent bracelets, 1 soy lemongrass/citronella candle)  These items are yours to keep, or you can leave them behind for the next guest to share.

Single floor mattress rental  - $35 per booking (not per night) - includes linens: sheets, light blanket, 1 pillow, 1 towel  (includes laundering.) 

Fire Starter (Food Grade)/5 pack Purchase ($5 per pack):  Purchase a 5 pack mix of Sawdust and food grade wax, gives a 15 minute burn time to help start the fire.  (recommended for starting cooking fires)

2 hr fire log (not for cooking) Purchase ($5 each)

Please note that firewood can usually be purchased through the rangers station -a small bundle which generally burns about 2 hours. Collection of kindling or wood from the park is prohibited. 

Specialty party décor packages $25-$250 (birthday, anniversary, romance, graduation, wedding, picnic, balloons, flowers- call for quote depending on needs.) Please note that party pavilions located near the bath-house can be reserved for an additional fee directly through the park. Comfy Camping does not reserve the pavilions.

ABOUT ALAFIA RIVER STATE PARK

(Please note that some GPS systems may take you to an alternate entrance to the Park.  You want to enter at the main entrance by the Ranger's Station.)  If you will be arriving after 5, please call ahead so we can provide you with a gate code.  entrance fee is $5 per car (campers do not have to pay entrance fee.)

Standing out from the relatively flat topography of Central Florida is Alafia River State Park, a reclaimed phosphate mine with some of the most radical elevation changes in the state. This makes it a hot spot for mountain bikers, who traverse the scenic and challenging International Mountain Bike Association trails.

Equestrians and hikers can explore 20 miles of hilly trails through forests and flatwoods, stopping to relax and admire one of the park's pristine lakes.

Canoeing and fishing opportunities are available along the South Prong of the Alafia River with some lakes scattered throughout the park.

The park also offers picnic pavilions, a playground, a full-facility campground, glamping rentals, and a full-service bike shop.
